  • Hi all,
As summer is moving out and fall close's in, we can reflect on some of the great events that we where able to attend over the summer, and we can focus on the things coming up this fall and winter. Many of the AA and other sober events I hope to have posted on the calendar of this site. Keep checking back and if your group or district is planning an event, and would like to get the word or a flyer out, send me the info. Thanks for helping me keep things as up to date as Possible, and please keep your input coming in.

If members, groups, or districts are interested in participating in Northern Michigan Inter Area there will be a meeting at 10:30am at the Grayling Township Building on Sunday October 3rd. Also the forming of the Spring Roundup Committee will begin to start the planning of the 2011 Spring Roundup. Much help is needed for the event and it is a blast to be a part of this. If you would like the location of the meeting: Get Map

September is National Recovery Month and if anyone is interested in the vast amount of information and events that are available out there for all, here is a link that might interest you, check it out:) LINK

The District 11 Meeting and Picnic in August was a great success. Many of you were there for food and fellowship and Mel our Area 34 Delegate was there to share her experience, strength, and hope with us and also talk about her first experience at the General Service Conference in New York this past April.Thankyou to Mel H.

District 11 is in need of people to serve on the various service committees. There has been very little representation from groups in District 11, such as G.S.R.'s or Alternates. Many folks have claimed that they have achieved a higher quality of sobriety, when they got involved in service at the Group and District level or beyond. This could be the answer for you as well. Please come and attend a District 11 meeting and check things out, WE NEED YOU.
The Meeting is held in the basement conference rooms at Munson (where the Saturday Open Talk is) the second Saturday of every month at 9:30 am. Yes this is kind of early for a Saturday but the meeting is over early as well and then you can go about your day.

The Central Office is in need of volunteers in all areas of service, such as call forwarding, rides for people to get to meetings, and Office help. If you would like to help out, this is a great way to do service for our fellows or our future fellows in need. Contact me or Central Office. Click on Contact Us tab for emails.

I have not been able to add much to the District 11 news section of this web site. I would like to get input from GSRs, DCMs, and Group members and District 11 Committee Chair persons on what information you would like to have included there. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

And, as always, if your group is having an event coming up and you would like to get a flyer on the website, just send it to me at the Webmaster address.

I'll try to keep you all posted on any new news or events in our area and let me know of anything you would like me to post. I hope some of you would drop me a line or two sometime. So good bye for now and may GOD Bless you.

    Rick
